Testimonials

“When our son was an infant, we had a really hard time feeding him and were advised to have a speech pathologist evaluate him. We were referred to Allison and are so thankful we were. She discovered he was tongue tied, something missed by two pediatricians. After he had surgery, we continued to work with Allison and she was wonderful with him. She was patient and upbeat and he was always excited to see her. Allison helped him to develop jaw and mouth strength. Her therapy in combination with the “homework” she devised for us resulted in great improvements in his speech and eating. We would recommend Allison to anyone. It is well over a year since his therapy and my son still mentions her when he plays with certain puzzles or toys that she used to work with him.”

“My son is two-and-a-half years old, and he has developmental delays (speech and physical). His speech was delayed even further as a result of hearing issues that were not resolved until just after his first birthday. Allison has been working with him for more than a year and a half, and his speech has improved tremendously in that time. Once a child who barely spoke, my son can now repeat almost anything and delights in learning and using new words to communicate. He used to drool constantly–due to low muscle tone, he did not keep his mouth closed properly or feel himself drooling–and now he hardly ever drools at all. He would frequently overstuff his mouth when eating because he couldn’t tell that his mouth was full; now he has finally learned to take “little bites.” Allison’s persistence, dedication and hard work with my son have been integral to his development. On top of that, her excellent advice and positive attitude have helped us all so much as we’ve learned to deal with my son’s issues. And, most important, my son loves working with her. I highly recommend Allison!”

“We met Allison when our son Zachary was 18 months old and was suffering speech and language delays. Allison was a breath of fresh air, and Zachary looked forward to his bi-weekly sessions with her. She shortly became a member of our family and made a huge difference in his life teaching him not only the sounds that were imperative to his language improvement but giving him skills to cope with his language delays and frustration. Her patience and sunny disposition made a huge impact on his development and we shortly began to notice a huge difference in his expressive language. While she was so wonderful with Zachary, she also helped my husband and me by empowering us to properly guide him on his developmental journey on a daily basis. The tools and tips she gave us were invaluable to his progress. Allison worked with Zachary for 2 years and we will forever be grateful for the skills and confidence she instilled in him. We are so appreciative for her dedication to our child, and to us, and feel that any family would be so lucky to have her in their life.”

“As a professional, there is tremendous risk in endorsing another professional’s credibility in working with a child or a family. Yet, when it comes to Allison Kreisler I feel absolutely no hesitation in lending my name to the long list of therapists out there who respect and admire her work. She is professional, dedicated, and kind. Allison always operates from a place of passion and sensitivity and excels at individualizing her therapeutic approach to each child. I am constantly amazed at how much Allison can achieve in any given day and how the quality of her work is never compromised. But, even with all of these strengths, Allison’s greatest asset as a professional is that she does not see her job ending when her session time is over with a child, this is where it begins for her. Her interest in seeing progress and helping to achieve it is boundless.”

“Allison began working with my daughter when she was in first grade. She was doing great in school but she was extremely difficult to understand when she spoke. She had been in speech therapy on and off since she was 3 ½ years old, with a few different speech pathologists, but minimal progress was made. As she got older she started to become very frustrated and embarrassed when she spoke and wasn’t understood by others. She became truly aware of her speech difficulties so I knew it was time to find the right person to address her problems. Allison was highly recommended by my daughter’s teacher. From the moment that I met Allison I was confident that she could help. She began by evaluating my daughter’s articulation and she determined that there were several sounds (R, S, TH) that needed to be worked on. From the first session it was clear for me to see that Allison was organized and systematic in her approach. She was patient and persistent and each week left “homework” to help us with carryover. Most importantly, to my daughter, the sessions were fun! My daughter looked forward to seeing Allison each week. We started to see progress very quickly and I am happy to say that less than a year later my daughter’s speech sounded SO much better. To see my child regain her confidence and feel proud to tell a story in front of others was everything I could have hoped for!”

“As a Special Instructor/SEIT, I am often asked if I can recommend a great speech therapist. Allison Kreisler is always the person I recommend. I have had the privilege of knowing Allison both professionally and personally for over 12 years. Allison’s skills, knowledge and dedication set her apart from the rest. She tailors therapy to meet the individual needs of each child. The children stay motivated because Allison makes therapy fun. All of the families that she works with love her. Even more important, I have seen firsthand the terrific progress made by the children she works with.”
