About Allison
“At the core of my decision to become a speech language pathologist was my yearning to work with children. I am motivated every day by the potential I have to enhance a child’s quality of life through communication.”
Allison Haberman Kreisler graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in communicative disorders and secondary education. She completed her graduate education at New York University earning a Masters of Arts degree in speech-language pathology and audiology.
Allison has worked with children from birth through school age for over fifteen years. She has provided early intervention services for Challenge Infant Development Center, Stepping Stone Day School, and the Lifestart Program. Allison has worked for the New York League (NYL) for Early Learning for over ten years. Allison is currently the Speech and Language Clinical Coordinator at the Gramercy School in Manhattan. As a clinical coordinator, Allison provides treatment and evaluations for children three to five years old in a center-based, therapeutic preschool setting. She also supervises and mentors a team of speech language pathologists. During her tenure working for NYL, Allison was the three-time recipient of the Therapist of Excellence Award, exemplifying her commitment and dedication to the field of education and speech language pathology.
Allison has extensive training in speech, language, oral motor, and feeding therapy. She has taken many oral motor training courses designed by Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson and TalkTools® therapists. She is trained in PROMPT and the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol. Allison is a certified Hanen provider in the It takes 2 to talk® and Learning Language and Loving it® programs. She also has training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Verbal Behavior (VB), and Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA).
Allison is a certified member of the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA). In 2011, she received the ACE (Award for Continuing Education) for exceeding the required amount of continuing education in a three-year period. She is a New York State licensed speech language pathologist and a certified Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped.
